Sand Lake Pointe is a wonderful community with mature oaks with homes built mostly by Bel Aire homes in the late 80’s to mid 90’s. The lots are a bit larger here and the mature landscaping gives the neighborhood a special feel.
The homes here will require more updating than its neighbor Sand Lake Cove, but what it does offer is deeded lake access to the Sand Lake Chain. The access area also has an area to park your car and trailer whereas most lake access areas in other neighborhoods give you a boat ramp but no area for parking. Kinda nice if you actually plan on using the lake access.
Another unique feature is a central area for mail collection. For those that don’t like the look of large mailboxes in the front yard, then this is the place.
The one thing you may need to watch out for is homes with wood frame construction. Not all the homes have a wood frame but many of the homes here do have it. Copper plumbing may be an issue if the property has not been re-plumbed yet.
Besides these few caveats, Sand Lake Pointe is a great neighborhood for the price and you can even find some affordable lakefront homes here. It’s a great choice for those looking for an established feel.
